Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Padav ("we", "us", "the Service") is an AI-assisted family travel planning tool. We are not a travel agency, booking service, or data broker. Questions? privacy@padav.app.

2. What we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Email address — if you subscribe to our newsletter. Used only for sending the monthly journey pick.
• Trip planning inputs — destination, dates, child ages, accommodation preference, trip style. Sent to Anthropic to generate your itinerary. Not stored on our servers beyond the current session.
• Browser localStorage — generated itineraries and pre-trip checklists are cached locally in your browser for speed. This data never leaves your device.

We do not collect: names, passport details, payment information, location data, or any data about your children beyond ages provided for planning purposes.

3. How we use your data

• Trip inputs are used solely to generate your itinerary via the Claude API. We do not store these inputs after your session ends.
• Email addresses for newsletter subscribers are used only to send the monthly journey email. We do not share them with third parties.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to anyone, for any purpose.
• We may review aggregated, anonymized usage patterns (e.g., "most searched destinations") to improve the product.

4. Third-party services

Padav integrates with and links to the following third parties. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

• Anthropic (Claude AI) — processes trip planning inputs to generate itineraries. Subject to Anthropic's privacy policy.
• Tavily Search — used for supplemental travel research. May process destination queries.
• Vercel — hosts the Padav platform. Subject to Vercel's privacy policy. Standard server logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) may be retained per Vercel's standard practices.
• Unsplash — travel photography. Images are loaded from Unsplash CDN; your browser may receive their cookies.
• Booking platforms — links to Google Flights, Booking.com, Kayak, Airbnb, etc. are convenience links only. Clicking them sends you to their own services, subject to their own policies.

5. Cookies and local storage

Padav uses no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking pixels.

• Your browser's localStorage stores generated itineraries and checklists locally on your device for fast repeat access. You can clear this any time via your browser's developer tools or site data settings.
• Vercel may set basic session cookies required for the platform to function.

6. Data retention

• Trip planning inputs: not retained server-side after the API call completes.
• Newsletter emails: retained until you unsubscribe. Unsubscribe link is in every email, or email us at privacy@padav.app.
• Server logs: retained per Vercel's standard policies (typically 30 days).
• LocalStorage data: stored in your browser until you clear it. Never transmitted to Padav servers.

7. Children's privacy

Padav is designed for parents planning family trips. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. Child ages entered during trip planning are used solely to tailor itinerary recommendations and are not stored server-side.

8. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Since we store minimal data, the primary action available is:

• Newsletter unsubscribe: click the link in any email or email privacy@padav.app.
• LocalStorage deletion: clear via your browser settings.
• Data requests: email privacy@padav.app — we'll respond within 30 days.

9. Security

Padav is served over HTTPS. We do not store payment data, passport numbers, or sensitive personal information. Trip inputs are transmitted encrypted to Anthropic's API over TLS. No system is perfectly secure — please do not enter sensitive personal documents into trip planning inputs.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be noted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
